"Grasping For Straws"

by Dr. Andre E. Matthews

Have you ever felt that way... like you were grasping for straws when you should have been holding onto something secure? Ever felt as though your cries weren't being heard by anyone? Well, today, I want to offer you a bit of hope! Here it is...

Your Hope Is Yet Alive and Kicking!

A wise man once said, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life." It is a known fact that the longer a person waits for something, the more likely they are to become discouraged and experience emotional distress. Basically, that means that the delay of what you hope to be realized can cause emotional distress, while the fulfilment of a long-held desire is a source of joy and vitality.

Hope is a feeling of expectation... a desire for  something to happen. Hope is a motivational state of mind... a belief in the possibility of achieving a desired goal. Hope awakens your ability to find pathways to reach for better. Hope is a chant you give when you want to encourage someone else.

Quite often we can become overwhelmed by outside forces and societal influences that challenge our hope reserves... we can become exposed to and hurt by toxic people who themselves have lost hope. As a result, we struggle to make sense of living in this crazy rat race, and feel like there is nothing else to live for.

BUT HERE'S THE GOOD NEWS...

Your hope is not lost! Our Heavenly Father has an amazing plan of recovery, rescue, rehab, and restoration designed just for you! You Haven't Lost Hope... Your Attention Has Only Been Diverted! That's all! You have always believed in a brighter future, a future that includes you achieving and receiving, contributing and sharing. And all of that is possible if you would only hang on in there!

No matter how devastating things are around you, I want to take this time to encourage you to hang on in there! Listen... giving up is like tossing the lifeline away from you just before you drown. Grab hold to hope, and don't let go! Challenge your faith... Trust in God... Connect with someone who can speak life to you... and let's watch the Good Lord turn things around for you!

Until next time, it's Dr. AE Matthews,   saying... Grace and Peace!
